FAQs
What types of financing do you provide?
We provide a range of financing solutions for qualified film and television productions, including production financing, gap financing, tax credit financing, and bridge or interim financing. Financing structures are evaluated and tailored based on the specific needs and circumstances of each project.
What types of projects do you finance?
We consider qualified film and television projects across a variety of genres, budget levels, and stages of production. Each opportunity is evaluated individually based on its creative, financial, production, and commercial elements.
Who can apply for financing?
We work with qualified industry participants, including producers, production companies, financiers, rights holders, and other established entertainment professionals seeking financing for film and television projects.
At what stage should I submit my project for consideration?
Projects may be considered at various stages of development, financing, pre-production, or production. Projects with meaningful elements already in place including financing, distribution, cast, tax incentives, or other commitments may be better positioned for evaluation. Projects looking for development and packaging can visit our sister-company Patriot Pictures for further information.
Do I need to have distribution in place?
Not necessarily. Distribution, sales, or other commercial commitments may be considered as part of our evaluation, but requirements will vary depending on the project and proposed financing structure.
Do you accept unsolicited creative submissions?
UPC does not accept unsolicited submissions. Do not send materials to UPC through this site or otherwise including but not limited to story ideas, character ideas, plot suggestions, set or costume designs, music, and/or scripts. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if, in breach of our policy, you do send us a submission, you agree not to assert any ownership right of any kind in the submission (including, but not limited to copyright, trademark, unfair competition, moral rights, or implied contract) and you waive the right to receive any financial or other consideration in connection with such unsolicited submission including, but not limited to, credit.
